I booked a trip for 11 people for a birthday celebration for 23rd May. 2020
On March 30th I tried to correspond by email about the trip I had paid... read more for to ask about refund if it could not go ahead. I got no reply. I tried phone no and left message, still no reply. I know we have a pandemic but there are no restrictions to answering emails or phone calls.
I eventually got a response from contact via Facebook messenger. I have been told I would have refund by close of Friday 19th June. It did not happen. I was given the phone no to contact to get details. There is still no reply on that no even though I have tried on numerous occasions And left messages. I am local. I am totally dissatisfied with the unprofessional response from this tour operator and still have not received refund.

A fantastic introduction to the River Barrow, it's natural history and the social history of the area around Athy. Skipper Cliff and his crew were hugely knowledgeable and very entertaining.... read more Unfortunately, we were only in Athy on a day when they did one hour tours ( though, actually we were out for 90 minutes!) as I'd love to have done a 3 hour one.

Lifejackets... read more are provided but the trip itself along the serene River Barrow is extremely safe and calm. We were treated to tea, coffee and biscuits to warm our cold hands as we departed for our river cruise. The scenery along this stretch of the Barrow is absolutely beautiful. The boat is very well maintained with bathroom facilities and options to byob for longer tours or celebrations. It hosts up to 12 passengers very comfortably and you'll be thoroughly entertained by Chris' knowledge of the locality. If you are into your wildlife there is plenty of bird and river life to spot along the way as well seeing how the ancient lock systems work along this unique stretch of river and canal. My only regret is that we didn't book the 3 hour tour - a fantastic day out! What is even more impressive is that this service is run voluntarily by those in the community - at only a tenner a head and with hot drinks provided it is great value for money and you're supporting a wonderful local resource!
We'll definitely be back for the longer trip and who knows - we might see some of the famous kingfishers on the beautiful Barrow! More
